My kid has big feet! and Immigration update

A few weeks ago, I asked the Agency to find out Addison's foot size, so we can bring a nice pair of shoes for her to wear home. They e-mailed back that her feet measure 17 cm (or 6.69 inches)!!! So, either they measured her feet WITH HER SHOES ON or, my kid has really large feet for a 3 year old! Yikes! After printing off shoe charts from the web, and measuring out 17 cm, she apparently should be wearing a size 11; also off the web, a typical 3 year old should be wearing a size 8 or 9! So, I guess we'll just buy her shoes in Addis Ababa.... :)

Also to note, I just received an e-mail today from our Agency that the Immigration Dept. now requires a "Child Life History Form", which the Agency has JUST forwarded to Immigration. Sigh....let's hope this final document will allow them to issue her Visa QUICKLY NOW. Maybe she'll be home in time for Hallowe'en! Won't that be a great way to introduce her to her new home!

Lastly, because I love when blogs have pictures, I'm posting a picture of some adorable towels I found at HomeSense featuring brown ballerinas. They are so cute I couldn't resist buying 2 sets for Addison!

  2. Yeah to the towels they are great , boo to a missing paper but it is on it's way so that is great.
Halloween could be a really scary way to arrive.
I was a shoe store this week buying a pair of winter boots for my girl to stock pile away. I of course had a strange conversation with the man who said it would be best if I brought her in to be measured. I am sure it would be but not really an option. He went to a chart in the back I picked size 10 in the end which is average 3-4 year old. I am sure my gambling will not work and my girl will have to wear her boots in the summer. Does not matter as it made me happy even if the purchase made no sense.

Have fun getting ready and I sure hope this is the week that brings some great Visa news
